To mark International Upcycling Day, we are launching the Global Food Upcycling Map – a digital tool designed to strengthen collaboration across the value chain and help businesses better utilise underused food side streams.
Upcycling side streams into new, valuable products is a key strategy for reducing food waste, lowering environmental impact, and supporting a more circular economy. Yet many organisations still lack the right partners to get started.
The Global Food Upcycling Map has been developed together with DataScouts and is supported by Industriens Fond as part of the Food Upcycling Project. The map makes it easy to find and connect with relevant actors — from ingredient suppliers and technology partners to food brands and logistics providers.
The initiative is backed by several leading organisations, including the Danish Technological Institute, Foodvalley, Food & Bio Cluster Denmark, DTU National Food Institute, DI Food, Dagrofa, and the Danish Agriculture & Food Council.
All organisations working within the upcycling chain are encouraged to add themselves to the map. This increases visibility and opens the door to new partnerships.
Join the map — or contact Knud Erik Hilding-Hamann if you would like assistance: 72201421 or khi@teknologisk.dk.
Together, we can make upcycled food the new normal.
